You can probably guess that a "melt-up" is the opposite of a "meltdown". When the market "melts down", major market indexes tank. This is usually triggered by some sort of geopolitical event (the start of a war, terrorist attack, etc) or the beginning of an economic downturn (recession, depression). As major indexes dance around record highs, many investors are worried that the risk of putting new money into the stock market exceeds the potential rewards. Still, the market is mostly grinding higher in what is now being widely described as a melt-up. I simply doubt the idea that the US stock market can have a glorious euphoric "Melt Up" in the next 6 or 12 months, while the rest of the world's stock markets keep heading downhill. In stock market terms, a melt-up is considered a big move in the markets that comes from investors trying to get in on a momentum shift. It also can be a sign of a late-stage bull market.
