The consumer confidence index came in at 130.7 for February, up from 130.4 in January. Economists polled by Dow Jones expected a print of 132.6. The monthly Index of consumer confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households. The Index of Consumer Confidence rose 6.5 points in February to 120.6 (2014 = 100). The index is now at its highest level since July 2019 The Index of Consumer Confidence rose 12.0 points in January to 114.1 (2014 = 100), the highest level since August 2019.
