India's retail price inflation rate rose to 3.99 percent year-on-year in September 2019 from an upwardly revised 3.28 percent in the previous month and above market expectations of 3.7 percent. It was the highest inflation rate since July last year, as food prices rose to an over 3-year high. Looking forward, we estimate it to trade at 30252.00 in 12 months time. With increase in inflation, every sector of the economy is affected. Ranging from unemployment, interest rates, exchange rates, investment, stock markets, there is an aftermath of inflation in every sector. Inflation is bound to impact all sectors, either directly or indirectly. Inflation and stock market have a very close association.

In theory, stocks should provide some hedge against inflation, because a company’s revenues and profits should grow at the same rate as inflation, after a period of adjustment. Impact of Inflation on the Indian Stock Market The interest rate decision is taken by the Central Bank (US= FED, India = RBI) of the particular country. If the economy of the country performing well and ease in Inflation then generally Central Bank raises the Interest Rate and this is taken as positive or bullish for Currency of the country.
